Dr. Marcano is a distinguished veterinarian, scientist, coach and speaker with a robust background in poultry and small animal medicine that extends to into research, government, diagnostics, and private industry. She is the co-founder of Pawsibilities Vet Med, a 501c3 nonprofit that leverages mentorship, professional development, and resources to empower current and future veterinary professionals. Dr. Marcano is also the founder of ValCri (pronunciation: val·kr·ee) Consulting, an organization that promotes access to education, food, and animal health through innovative and science-based educational materials.
A 2003 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Meredith Rives has been practicing small animal medicine for over 21 years. Dr. Rives has varied experience in general practice, which has resulted in a well-rounded career with an emphasis on compassionate care and professional development. She has pursued formal certifications in veterinary leadership, Fear Free handling, surgery and acupuncture, while also serving as a board member for various animal advocacy organizations. In her most recent role with a national veterinary company, Dr. Rives provided operational guidance and leadership to a fast-growing organization, building their Chicago market with the goal of supporting the medical teams and implementing strategies for maximum efficiency and access to high quality care.
