Dr. Yatta Linhares Boakari received her degree in veterinary medicine in 2012 from Universidade Federal do Piaui (Brazil), a Master’s in 2015 from UNESP-Botucatu (Brazil), and a PhD in 2019 from the Gluck Equine Research Center- University of Kentucky in Theriogenology. She completed a residency and post-doctoral fellowship in 2021 at Auburn University and is a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists since 2022. Dr. Boakari joined the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at Texas A&M as an Assistant Professor in October 2021. Dr. Boakari teaches reproduction of domestic species at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science Department. She implemented various changes to the curriculum, such as designing reproductive models with 3D printing. Her main research focuses on using omics technologies to understand normal and abnormal pregnancies and metabolic disorders. She is an Associate Editor for one journal and peer reviewer for seven high impact journals. Dr. Boakari has authored 27 peer-reviewed journal articles and two book chapters. She served on nine graduate committees (one as a chair). She provides reproductive clinical care for alpacas and ruminants at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. She received awards for her teaching skills (2023 and 2024) from Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
