Become a Leader in Your Veterinary Community

Thank you for your interest in becoming a VetPrep Student Representative. Every year, third year veterinary students go through needless stress because they don't have good information about the NAVLE® and available study resources. We hope that with your help, we can better inform these students about their upcoming boards and direct them to the tools they need to succeed.

Your Student Rep Responsibilities

  • Confirm Eligibility  
    Ensure you understand your school’s policies regarding student representatives and that you are eligible to serve in this role as a 3rd year student. 

  • Attend a 60–75 Minute Online Orientation  
    You’ll join a virtual session to learn about VetPrep, your  responsibilities, and how to support your classmates effectively.

  • Engage in Edcelerate to Build Community

    As a Student Rep, you’ll play an active role in Edcelerate, VetPrep's student community hub. You’ll help spark conversation, share helpful reminders, highlight study tips, and encourage classmates to connect with one another. Posting in the VetPrep channel is a key part of your role and helps build a supportive, engaged community across schools.

  • Share VetPrep Materials on Campus (If Allowed)  
    If permitted, distribute or post VetPrep flyers and promotional materials in appropriate locations such as mailboxes, bulletin boards, or classrooms.

  • Communicate Key Updates to Your Class  
    Periodically email your classmates and post updates to your class Facebook group or other communication channels to share VetPrep registration specials, study tips, and important announcements. Each time a communication is requested, you’ll confirm completion with the VetPrep Community Manager.

  • Promote VetPrep Informally  
    Answer questions and help classmates understand what VetPrep offers, especially as they begin preparing for the NAVLE®

  • Provide Feedback to Improve VetPrep  
    Share ideas and suggestions to help us continue improving the platform.
    Note: You are not permitted to share any NAVLE® exam questions or specific exam content. We will never ask for this information.

  • Connect One on One with the VetPrep Community Manager 
    Discuss creative ways to educate students at your school about the NAVLE®, and available study strategies.

  • Coordinate a VetPrep Webinar or Presentation  
    Help arrange a time and location for a 60 minute VetPrep webinar for your classmates. If your school is selected for an in-person visit, you may assist with scheduling a lunch or evening presentation.

  • Host a VetPrep “Trivia Night”
    You’ll receive a pre-programmed, automated trivia event to run for your class. Many reps partner with student organizations to make it a fun, high-energy gathering.

  • Respond Promptly to all Emails 
    Please reply to all communication from the VetPrep Community Manager within 48 hours.

  • Help Recruit Next Year’s Student Rep  
    Assist VetPrep in identifying and recruiting a representative from the class below you.

Join the VetPrep Community, and hang out with other student representatives.

What You’ll Receive

Being a VetPrep Student Representative comes with meaningful perks designed to support your board‑prep journey.

Time Commitment

This role should not require a large amount of time. Most reps spend no more than 10 to 20 hours over the course of their third year.

Free Access to VetPrep

As a VetPrep Student Representative, you’ll receive a free subscription to VetPrep, activated during the fall of your third year and valid through the spring of your final year.

For schools with non‑traditional schedules or five‑year programs, we’ll work with you to provide a subscription timeline that fits your curriculum.

For schools with facility subscriptions, we cannot provide cash or gift cards of equal value, but we will ensure you receive additional perks for your support. 

Promotional Materials & Giveaways

During your third year, you’ll receive VetPrep promotional items to distribute or raffle to your classmates — and you may keep a few for yourself.

(Due to customs limitations, this may not apply to schools outside North America.)

This leadership role is a strong addition to your CV, demonstrating communication skills, initiative, and involvement in student support.
